Take your career to the next level and become a Commercial Account Manager in just 3 months.
The Insurance Broker Commercial Account Management certificate is an online micro-credential designed for working professionals to quickly gain the skills required to take advantage of the prevailing talent shortage within the insurance industry.
This micro-credential is tailored for individuals who aspire to pursue a career as a commercial broker in the property and casualty industry or are a personal lines broker looking to make a jump into commercial lines. The curriculum enables participants to learn commercial lines and equips them with the foundational skills needed to take up the role of a Commercial Lines Account Manager.

Humber College is proud to partner with the IBAO (Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario) in the design, development, delivery, and mentorship of the Insurance Broker Commercial Account Management certificate. The program is also proud to partner with Applied Systems to conduct the Insurance Technology course of the program.
OSAP: You may qualify for OSAP as the program is a micro-credential.

Dorothy Renzi is a seasoned professional, serving as a Client Manager in Commercial Lines at Jones Deslaurier. Here she manages and develops a diverse portfolio of commercial insurance clients, providing them with tailored solutions by leveraging her expertise in risk management. Also, she is the President of the Young Brokers Council at IBAO where she demonstrates leadership and commitment to the industry.
Dorothy holds the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker designation, Level 2 Unrestricted RIBO license and is a CIP candidate. She is passionate about education, learning new skills, exploring new challenges and collaborating with others in the field. In addition to her corporate role, she is an instructor at Humber College in the Commercial Account Management program. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of insurance professionals, helping them develop the skills and competencies they need to succeed in the industry. Beyond the professional realm, Dorothy is a mother to 3 boys who play hockey so you can often find her in a rink.
Lea Ferreira is a seasoned insurance professional with a passion for adult education. As the Training Specialist at HUB International Ontario Limited, Lea specializes in Broker Onboarding for Ontario and Atlantic employees. Joining the Insurance Industry as a Personal Insurance broker, her favourite part of the role was connecting with clients and assisting them in making educated insurance decisions. As she developed her brokering skills, Lea pivoted to helping others with difficult client conversations, sparking her passion for broker education and redesigning onboarding programs to prepare the next generation of licensed professionals.
Lea enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with others and finding ways to help them grow their career within the industry. With a background in psychology and alternative dispute resolution, she is always looking for new challenges to keep herself busy. Beyond the insurance world, you can find Lea and her bernadoodle, Sylas, spending quality time outdoors.
Rob Fletcher is the Manager of Operational Excellence with BrokerLink’s National Commercial Insurance team. Here he manages projects and initiatives focused on employee development and one of Rob’s main responsibilities is managing BrokerLink’s Commercial Broker Trainee Program. This program provides opportunities to new Insurance Management Program graduates, including on-the-job and classroom skill development, industry exposure, networking opportunities, career exploration, and more.
Rob holds a diploma from the Business Insurance program at Algonquin College in Ottawa and a CIP designation.
As a passionate educator and mentor, Rob has been inspiring the next generation of insurance professionals at Humber College. He serves as an instructor in the Insurance Broker Commercial Account Management Program.
Rob enjoys spending time with his family, reading and running outside of class and work.
Shani Campbell-Francois is a professional with 20 years of experience as a broker, former insurance educator and entrepreneur with two designations - Canadian Risk Management (CRM) and Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP). Shani loves the constant learning and challenges in the industry. She is currently the Managing Partner of Selective Insurance Group, a Toronto brokerage focused on providing clients with tailored and creative insurance solutions. When she's not working, she loves spending time with her family and friends, travelling and cooking. Balance is everything!
Steven Muto is a Director of Commercial Insurance at Navacord’s Jones DesLauriers managing high performing commercial insurance teams. He collaborates with senior leadership on financial analysis, hiring strategies, budgeting, and goal setting to align with the company’s vision. Steven is involved in implementing best practices, ensuring legal compliance, and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration to keep JDIMI competitive in the insurance marketplace.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, along with both his CIP and FCIP designations. As a committed educator, Steven has been inspiring the next generation of insurance professionals at Humber Polytechnic where he serves as an instructor in the Insurance Broker Commercial Account Management program. Beyond academia, Steven enjoys his free time with his family and friends and is a devoted Toronto sports fan.
Suzanne grew up in London Ontario and is a proud Western University graduate. While in school, she began part-time work at an insurance office which became her full-time career.
Suzanne has been involved with the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO), her local Affiliate, and other industry organizations. She served on the London Affiliate board for twelve years, including three terms as President. Her proudest moments were winning the IBAO’s Affiliate Achievement award in 2012 and being part of the team that won in 2017.
Suzanne obtained her CIP designation and diploma in Teaching Techniques from the Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC). She continued as an instructor with the Southwestern Ontario Chapter and taught the Principles and Practice of Insurance and Insurance on Property courses.
Over the past seven years, she has worked as the Commercial Lines Manager with Ontario West Insurance Brokers in London. With their support, she currently sits as the Ontario director on the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada Board and the Southwestern Ontario Director and President of the IBAO board.
Suzanne is passionate about the insurance industry and shares that passion through educating and mentoring the next generation.
