Industry Seminar Class Panel Discussion a Success
Several Program Advisory Committee (PAC) members and alumni of the Global Business Management program were invited to the Industry Seminar class on October 28th and 29th. The guests participated in a panel discussion with 3rd-semester students. A total of 12 panelists were spread over 3 classes and shared their experiences with 187 students.
The panelists all worked in various sectors including the municipal and provincial governments as well as companies such as Loblaws, Meridian Credit, Bell Canada, Campari Group, Cox Automotive and Vale. As project managers, logistics coordinators, supply chain managers, and HR professionals, they provided insight into how to get ahead in the industry and what is required to ensure career success.
During the Q&A period, panelists advised students to continuously network and seek out good placement options to strengthen their career prospects. The discussion also involved competencies that employers look for in graduates including flexibility and good problem-solving skills.
