Those who work with Tanya Rumble were not surprised to learn that she recently was named one of Canada's Most Powerful Women.
Tanya's work as a professional fundraiser, faculty member of Humber College’s Fundraising Management graduate certificate program and other courses, as well as past Program Advisory Committee (PAC) Member made her an ideal candidate in the Canadian Tire Community Impact category.
Over the past few years, Tanya has brought her extensive experience in providing the next generation of learners with forward-thinking skills in professional fundraising and leadership. She is at the forefront of issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion, gift acceptance and fundraising ethics, demonstrated through imagining and co-leading the Recast Philanthropy initiative. This initiative provides a space for the profession to create a more equitable fundraising and philanthropic sector.
Samantha Jones, Faculty and Program Coordinator commended Tanya's leadership, stating, "I have personally known Tanya within the charitable sector for over a decade and have seen her become a leader who moves tough conversations forward. She is always pushing herself, the organizations she works with and the sector as a whole to bring more value to the communities we serve."
Beyond her roles at Humber College, Tanya is a respected writer and speaker, collaborating with industry associations such as Imagine Canada, AFP Global, the Canadian Association of Gift Planners, and Community Foundations Canada. She actively represents the profession with Revenue Canada on the Advisory Committee on the Charitable Sector.
In addition to her professional achievements, Tanya is a trusted advisor for community organizations seeking guidance on planned giving and fundraising strategies. Known for her dedication to her young family, Tanya balances her roles as a teacher, colleague, and lifelong learner with remarkable finesse.
Congratulations to Tanya on this well-deserved recognition!
