Humber Polytechnic's Financial Planning students, Greeshma, Dev, and Gayathri, have achieved first place in the National Case Competition organized by the Canadian Institute of Financial Planners (CIFP). Their win includes an all-expense-paid trip to the CIFP National Convention, taking place in Vancouver, British Columbia, this September.
This outstanding achievement marks only the second time in the past decade that a team has secured the top position, a distinction previously earned by a team comprised of seasoned professionals in their early 40s.
The Humber team’s presentation was noted for its comprehensive analysis and professional delivery. Professors Richard Kingston, Program Coordinator of the Financial Planning program, and Sanjiv Sawh, who both coached the students, expressed immense pride in the team's performance.
"This success highlights the benefit and importance of Humber's Financial Planning Graduate Certificate program," said Richard. Professor Sanjiv Sawh was also recognized for his leadership and coaching, which contributed significantly to the team's success.
