On April 11th, 2019, Humber Fashion Arts and Business students put on The Elements of Humber, their annual fashion showcase. Guided by Program Coordinator and Professor Jennifer Dawson, 25 fashion students spent months developing and planning the showcase.
This year's fashion show took place at The Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship with over 100 guests in attendance. Ten prominent Canadian designers presented their spring and summer collections, inspiring the theme of this year's show - the four elements.
The show opened with Humber violinist, William Lamourex, who filled the room with classical melodies before models walked the runway.
The show included intricate hand-sewn designs, beautiful floral embroidery as well as gowns an suits from a variety of designers. The show features a, “refreshing and modern twist to traditional designs,” says fashion student, Renee Rodrigues.
“The students present their capstone project that explores producing an industry standard fashion event. This event helps students gain hands-on experience in the design, development, direction, and coordination of all elements in the production of a fashion show."

“It’s not so much about fashion for me but creating something that is art.”
