Walk It Out Fashion Show 2018: Haute Humber

Every year, graduating Fashion Arts and Business students organize an annual fashion show called Walk it Out. The student-run event showcases collections from well-known designers and gives students the opportunity to coordinate and put on a sophisticated and glamorous show for the Humber and Toronto Fashion community.

This year’s annual Walk It Out Fashion Show entitled: Haute Humber took place on April 10th at the Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship. The students wanted to bring the event back to campus and invited local high schools to attend the dress rehearsal. Guided by Program Coordinator and Professor Jennifer Dawson, fashion students spent three months developing and planning the showcase.

The inspiration for Haute Humber came from student's experiential learning visit to the Christian Dior Exhibit at the ROM earlier this year. There, students had the chance to get an up-close look at the classic couture and elegance of the brand.

Seven Canadian designers presented their chic collections during the event. These designers included Joseph Tassoni, Xian, Angela Demontigny, Strauss, Medjy-MeMe Collection, Rhowan James, and Christopher Paunil.

The show was a huge success and really showcased the talent and hard work of the Fashion Arts and Business students. Also in attendance were The Business School Dean, Alvina Cassiani, and Humber President Chris Whitaker, who were both extremely impressed.

Congrats to all the students, faculty and designers who made this year's Fashion Show a huge success.
