HLOs:
By Karla Marcelo, Fashion Arts and Business student
Unfiltered, a fashion show organized by the Fashion Arts and Business students, has taken on a new form at Humber’s Fashion Institute. Following its impressive performance at the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation (BCTI) in April 2025, select event styling outfits were transformed into a window display at the Lakeshore campus.
With the guidance of a talented group of fashion students, led by faculty members Vladimira Steffek and Rossie Kadiyska, the essence of Unfiltered was beautifully captured in the iconic window display at the Fashion Institute. This team—Amare, Irvin, Karla, Silas, Sidhu, and Yeshey—utilized the skills they acquired from courses such as Store Planning and Merchandising.
The window display provides an opportunity for anyone who missed the show to witness the talent and professionalism of Humber students firsthand. This marks just the beginning of many exciting projects to come next year.
Personally, being part of the final stage of the Unfiltered project was a rewarding experience. I had the chance to learn from my peers, discover new insights, and enhance my portfolio. Unfiltered has proven to be, and will continue to be, a remarkable showcase of the talent at Humber Polytechnic.
