The FGI X Fashion Art Toronto event, held on October 10th at Indeed Laboratories, showcased fall fashion and beauty trends and a runway show. This event celebrated Canadian designers, explored upcoming trends, and hosted engaging discussions on the future of fashion, all led by stylist and Toronto native Ceecee Chilanga. Attendees enjoyed an on-site photo booth by Hidden Smirk and photography by Hanmin Yun, capturing memorable moments throughout the night.

One of the most impactful aspects of the evening was the networking and connection-building opportunities it offered to Toronto fashion students. Daniel Bong, a second-year Fashion Arts and Business student, shared his excitement, stating, “[the event] was amazing; it was so nice to be in an environment with people from the fashion industry who could make connections with, even if it was just their names.”

Cristina Di Sotta, another second-year student, echoed the sentiment: “[the event] was such an incredible opportunity to meet and network with Canadian professionals in the industry. It was super inspiring to be able to chat with them and receive some advice while hearing about their experience and perspective on fashion, especially the Canadian scene. The event really motivated me and made what felt like a very intimidating industry to get into more possible! I’m excited to attend more events like this in the future!”

The FGI X Fashion Art Toronto event offered a unique platform for fashion students to connect with industry veterans and peers alike, providing valuable insight and motivation as they prepare for careers in fashion. This event was a significant step toward bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry experience.
