Eden United Church hosted a successful Community Clothing Mart aimed at providing affordable clothing to those in need, with all items priced at $5 or less. The event featured a wide selection of new and lightly used clothing, generously donated by community members.

Second-year Fashion Arts and Business students volunteered their time and expertise to help organize the event. They sorted donated items by age, group, size, and type of merchandise ensuring everything was displayed in an organized and visually appealing way, similar to a retail store. The students implemented various display techniques, such as folding clothes uniformly to maintain a neat and professional look. The students also created clear signage for different sizes and sections, making it easier for the buyer to locate things. It also allows the students an opportunity to test the knowledge and skills they have learned in their FASH 230: Store Planning and Merchandising course. Their efforts contributed significantly to the smooth operation of the event.

The collaboration between Humber's fashion students and Eden United Church proved instrumental to the event's success. Church staff expressed their gratitude for the students' dedication, while the students appreciated the opportunity to give back to the community. Their commitment has not only made a significant impact but has also inspired others to engage in charitable initiatives. The partnership is anticipated to continue, with plans for future volunteering opportunities next year.
