Students Practice the Art of the Pitch at The Humber Shark Tank Event

The students of the Entrepreneurial Enterprise Graduate Certificate Program created and hosted The Humber Shark Tank Event to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), which was the week of November 12th-16th. GEW is an international initiative introducing entrepreneurship across six continents.

The students produced the event from idea creation, to planning and reaching out for participants and judges, to marketing the event and execution. They supported potential entrepreneurs and their ideas. The event was also a great networking opportunity for all participants.

The event had 8 teams pitching their business ideas to a panel of judges for an opportunity to get feedback and win prizes. The pitchers were from The Business School, The School of Media Studies and The School of Social & Community Services and the judges were from The Business School and The School of Applied Technology. The winners of the pitch event were awarded with gift cards and learned more about taking their ideas to the next level.

This event provided the students with the opportunity to get in front of other potential entrepreneurs and members of the entrepreneurial community. They were able to advertise the event, organize and execute the event, and provide fellow students a platform to share their business ideas with the broader community.

"This event provided the students with the opportunity to get in front of other potential entrepreneurs and members of the entrepreneurial community."
