In recognition of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) on November 16th, three global academic institutions including the University of Salford, GEA College, and Humber College collaborated to bring entrepreneurial lessons to students.
Anamarija Žefran Meglič from GEA College was the moderator, Rebecca Fitzgerald from Humber College delivered a keynote address, and Katja Kraskovic led the roundtable discussion between Professor George Deriso and Dr. Marian Evans about education and entrepreneurship. Both George and Marian are serial entrepreneurs and educators who brought knowledge, experience, and insights to their classrooms and shared it with everyone in attendance.
While there were many key points during the discussion, Marian emphasized the importance of persevering while George highlighted that entrepreneurship is all about relationships. Building, fostering, and maintaining these relationships are critical to achieving success.
A special thank you to Dr. Ambarin Khan from the University of Salford and Jaka Vadnjal from GEA College for honouring GEW by bringing this experience to our students.
All three institutions were involved in Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) and the GEW collaboration was just one of the many positive outcomes that benefited students.
