In our Digital Business Management program, we’re not just learning about today’s business challenges; we’re preparing for future-ready solutions!
As part of our Product Management (MGMT 4002) course we had the unique opportunity to collaborate with Collaborative Aging, our industry partner for our podcast project, Aging out Loud: Mapping the Futures of How We Live.
Founded by Sue Lantz (LinkedIn), Collaborative Aging is a Canadian organization focused on reimagining aging through inclusive, intergenerational, and community-centered approaches.
The theme “Aging Out Loud” was selected through a class-wide vote to reflect the collective vision of the Fall 2025 Product Managers.
Our journey began with an engaging session led by Nadia Abuseif (LinkedIn), a foresight designer, who introduced us to the concepts of Strategic Foresight. She encouraged us to imagine life in 2050; a world where people live well into your 90s, cities are investing in climate resilience, cloud communities, and where technology is advancing rapidly playing a crucial role in how we age and connect.
During our session, we also explored how advancements in AI and genetic technology could one day allow parents to modify traits in their children, like choosing the eye color would become as easy as choosing a product off a store shelf. These conversations pushed us to think beyond the technical side of innovation and sparked meaningful reflection on the ethical, social, and emotional implications of a world where technology can shape not only our environment but also our very biology.
Working alongside Collaborative Aging gave us a real-world glimpse into how businesses and social enterprises can drive change. How aging, community, and innovation intersect, and how foresight helps us plan for a more inclusive and sustainable future. Through this partnership, we weren’t just completing an academic project, we were contributing to an ongoing initiative that aims to reimagine the future of aging and caregiving.
The experience highlighted that innovation isn’t just about technology, it’s about people. It’s about designing solutions that make life more inclusive, resilient, and meaningful. As Nadia asked us during her session, with advances like CRISPR and neurotechnology, humans may one day be able to enhance their own abilities. And that brings us to the final question: If you could choose any superpower, what would it be and how would you use it to shape a better future?
Follow our progress on our DigiPod Instagram, where we share highlights of our progress, giving our audience a behind-the-scenes look at the discussions around aging, foresight, and the future of human connection!
