Thanks to the Program Advisory Committee members of the Digital Business Management BComm program for joining our first Industry Panel event for the 2021-2022 academic year: Workplace Post-COVID.
Our industry guests, Ben Wise, Paul Meo, Ali Sifton, Sean Power joined us virtually on the evening of Wednesday Oct 6, 2021 through Blackboard for a panel discussion. They shared their insights on employability skills post Covid, discussed productivity and employee engagement during the pandemic, presented challenges and opportunities while managing and motivating teams within the virtual space, and offered tips for networking within the virtual space. The event was produced as part of two class assignments and was well attended by students from:
The students had a list of very thoughtful questions for the pane and used the time to engage in a very-well moderated session with our industry guests.
A big shout-out to our Humber students who moderated the event: Sunny Chopra from the Digital Business Management BComm program, Anna Krangach from the Marketing BComm program at the Longo Faculty of Business, Felicia Mangiardi from the Community and Justice Services at the Faculty Social & Community Services, and the DBSA’s Events Team for planning and producing the event.
Looking forward, we hope to continue such successful interdepartmental and cross disciplinary collaborations that can create experiential learning opportunities to the students, connect current students to industry and develop students’ communication and networking skills.
