HLOs:
Digital Business Management students in the DIGI 3502: Database Systems course partnered with Humber Libraries on the Fashion History Project. The collaboration focuses on building a comprehensive digital database for the Fashion History Museum, designed to preserve and highlight the evolution of fashion through personal artifacts and student narratives from the Fashion Management students in the FASH 3000: 20th Century Fashion History course.
As part of the project, students participated in an interactive session led by Humber Librarian Caleb Domsy and Library Technician Shernett Bennett. The workshop introduced students to AtoM (Access to Memory), an archival description software used by Humber Archives. Through this experience, students gained practical knowledge in entering, managing, and organizing data within a professional archival framework—skills that directly support their classroom learning in database management.
Digital Business Management students have been working alongside their peers in Fashion Management to collect, catalog, and document fashion-related artifacts and records.
The collaboration of both programs with Humber Libraries is a perfect example of how cross-disciplinary teamwork can enhance student learning and contribute to important projects.
