On April 4th, the halls of the North campus were abuzz with excitement as the fourth-semester Cosmetic Management students hosted an extraordinary event titled, 'The Business of Beauty'. This event, which marked the culmination of the students' accomplishments, was a testament to their dedication, creativity, and passion for the cosmetics industry. The student-led conference was supported by administrators, faculty, and Program Advisory Committee (PAC) members.

The Business of Beauty provided a unique opportunity for students to interact with industry leaders and gain invaluable insights into the ever-evolving world of cosmetics. The event welcomed esteemed guests from prominent companies including Shoppers Drug Mart, Coty, NARS Cosmetics, and The Detox Market.

One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity for students to hear firsthand from Michelle Broda, Senior Director of Prestige Cosmetics and E-Commerce at Shoppers Drug Mart. Her expertise and insights into the direction of the industry provided invaluable guidance for our aspiring cosmetic professionals.

Additionally, students had the privilege of engaging with a distinguished alumni panel featuring Elisa Tricarico, Manager of Product Marketing - Global at DECIEM | THE ABNORMAL BEAUTY COMPANY, Nicole Seow, Senior Project Manager Product Development and Launch DECIEM | THE ABNORMAL BEAUTY COMPANY and Sienna Porter, Product Developer at Orchard Custom Beauty. The panel discussion offered a glimpse into the real-world experiences and career trajectories of successful Cosmetic Management alumni, inspiring current students to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience.

Moreover, the event featured a captivating keynote address by Francine Philips, an Account Executive and renowned makeup artist for NARS Cosmetics. Her expertise and passion for the artistry of makeup left a lasting impression on all attendees, igniting a newfound enthusiasm for creativity and innovation within the beauty industry.

As part of the event, The Business of Beauty also included a makeup competition sponsored by The Detox Market. This provided students with an opportunity to showcase their talents, creativity, and technical skills, further enhancing their learning experience.

The meticulous planning and execution of this event were made possible by the diligent efforts of Cosemtic Management students, who embraced the challenge as part of their capstone project for experiential learning. With the guidance of their professors, a group of students planned and executed the event as a critical component of their coursework. Their dedication and professionalism are truly commendable, and we are immensely proud of their achievements.

The Business of Beauty was more than just an event; it was a celebration of passion, creativity, and excellence in the cosmetics industry. Thank you to all the students, faculty, staff, and industry partners who contributed to the success of this memorable occasion. Together, we continue to inspire and empower the next generation of cosmetic professionals.
