HLOs:
One of the most exciting aspects of the Cosmetic Management program at Humber Polytechnic is the opportunity to welcome inspiring professionals who are shaping the future of the beauty industry. On May 27th, the COSM 152: Skin Care Product Knowledge class had the honour of hosting Lesley Bowen, an accomplished medical aesthetician, educator, and founder of L.A.B. Beauty.
With over a decade of experience working alongside some of Canada’s top plastic surgeons and physicians, Lesley brings an incredible depth of clinical knowledge, but what sets her apart is how she fuses that medical expertise with artistic vision. Her passion for enhancing natural beauty and helping others feel confident in their skin is at the heart of everything she does.
Lesley’s approach is especially noteworthy for her specialization in treating darker skin tones, including addressing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and acne scarring, conditions that are often underserved in mainstream aesthetics. Her results-driven techniques offer fast, visible improvements while ensuring a compassionate and inclusive experience for her clients.
During her visit, Lesley spoke candidly about her career journey, the importance of continuous education, and the real-world challenges and rewards of working in clinical aesthetics. She shared case studies, treatment tips, and heartfelt advice that left students inspired and energized.
Beyond her thriving practice, Lesley is also an advocate for professional development. She offers private aesthetics training in a warm and welcoming environment, supporting both new graduates and experienced professionals looking to refine their skills.
Her visit was more than just a lecture, it was a spark. Students left with not only a deeper understanding of advanced skincare but also a greater sense of what’s possible when passion meets purpose.
Thank you to Lesley for sharing her time, expertise, and energy with the class. Her story and presence left a lasting impression, and her journey continues to inspire the next generation of beauty professionals.
