Marketing Grad Speaks at World’s Largest Sales Enablement Conference

Graduates who are new to an industry can find it difficult to know what their ideal future career may look like. Business - Marketing diploma graduate Andrew Dagg can relate.

When Andrew graduated from Humber in 2010, he found his first marketing job at Flipp, a retail technology company, which was quite small at the time. Andrew’s first role with Flipp had him working directly with retailers. As the company grew he was asked to assist with onboarding new team members, a responsibility he found he had a talent for. Andrew now holds the title of Learning and Growth Lead at Flipp where he works with team members ensuring they have the tools needed to succeed.

As a result of his hard work, Andrew was invited to speak at TRANSFORM 2019 in Chicago, the world’s largest sales enablement conference. Andrew spoke on a panel with three other industry professionals about the different approaches they each take to onboarding within their companies.

The annual conference, attended by sales and marketing leaders from across the country, takes place over two days and is an opportunity to collaborate and network with like-minded professionals. During the conference, the focus is placed on roles rather than on a specific industry. The event is organized to bring together professionals from a variety of backgrounds to share varying methods and best practices.

Andrew’s advice to business students is to keep an open mind when looking for a job. Take the time to explore new and growing disciplines as well as more traditional business roles. You never know where that first job might take you!
