Humber Students Rise to the Challenge of Cafe Wars

On December 9th, 2015, Humber’s Business Administration and Business Management students gathered their teams together and got down to business in the inaugural Cafe Wars competition.

Cafe Wars is a competition between students using the BizCafe simulation software. This simulation provides students with an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of business by running a simple start-up enterprise. The goal of the competition is to promote entrepreneurship and team play. The event included a short introduction but focused mainly on 2.5 hours of playing time which covered a total of 7 decision periods(7 simulated business weeks). During this time, students had approximately 20 minutes to analyze the facts, and make the meaningful business decisions.

Congratulations to the first-place winning team members Sukhbir Kaur, Margisha Soni, Kamalpreet Kular and Divya Manivannan. The contest lasted 2 hours and 10 minutes. A big thank you goes out to Humber faculty Jeff Short who supported the event and to all of the ENACTUS members and volunteers who helped organize and run this lively event.
