HLOs:
Second-year Business Management student, Osasere Ayere, has been awarded the prestigious Michael Harper International Student Award from Humber Polytechnic. This accolade recognizes international students who demonstrate academic excellence, a strong commitment to their studies, and a dedication to leveraging their Canadian experiences to make a positive impact in their home communities.
Osasere’s achievements at Humber embody these values. He has consistently earned Dean’s Honour Roll status for consecutive semesters and represented Humber’s Entrepreneurship and Retail teams at the 2024 Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition (OCMC). His dedication to skill development and competitive spirit have been instrumental in his success. Osasere credits his classmates, Humber’s faculty, and his loved ones for their unwavering support, emphasizing the importance of surrounding oneself with the right people to achieve success.
Looking ahead, Osasere aspires to build a career in project management, operations, and consulting, helping businesses optimize their systems to maximize community impact. The Michael Harper Award has alleviated financial pressures, enabling him to focus on career development, including pursuing a certificate in business optimization and volunteering as a Sustainability Ambassador for Humber.
Osasere’s advice to fellow students is simple yet powerful: “Don’t be afraid of big goals. Just do little pieces of it consistently and surround yourself with the right support.”
Congratulations to Osasere on this well-deserved recognition!
