Business Administration Student Helps Raise Pandemic Relief Funds for Community Shelter

Business Administration Student and part-time TD Bank employee, Chiara Carozzi, along with her colleagues, helped raise funds to support relief efforts for Youth Without Shelter (YWS). YWS is an emergency residence and referral agency dedicated to providing shelter and support programs for homeless youth ages 16-24.

“Our Markland Wood TD branch selected to support YWS with the belief that youth are our future and during uncertain times causes like the one YSW supports can go unnoticed,” explains Chiara.

As part of the Etobicoke TD retail district, Chiara and her colleagues raised $2,500 for YWS as well as sixteen boxes of physical donations. They did so all while following strict social distancing practices and taking extra measures to ensure items were sanitized and ready to use.

Business Administration Program Coordinator, Maria Racanelli, was not surprised that Chiara keeps paying it forward. “Chiara embodies our 'model student' with strong Humber work ethics and values. She has persevered in the program and has progressively improved her GPA all while working part-time. Most recently, Chiara made the Dean’s list for the Winter 2020 semester - one of the most challenging semesters all students have faced to date.”
