Humber students in the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies program demonstrated their expertise and competitive spirit at the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Moot on January 18th and 19th. Hosted by the Lincoln Alexander School of Law and the TMU Moot Society, the event brought together 16 teams from leading institutions, including the University of Toronto, York University, and TMU, making Humber the sole polytechnic participant.

The Humber team, comprised of fourth-year student Kiran Matharu and third-year student Emily Clayton, showcased exceptional skills. The competition required participants to submit a written factum and deliver oral arguments. Matharu and Clayton ranked an impressive fourth among the respondent teams and advanced to the quarterfinals on the second day.

Their success was bolstered by the mentorship of fourth-year students Maria Rausch and Dion Desserre, who secured victory at the 2024 Capital Cup National Undergraduate Mooting Competition hosted by Carleton University in Ottawa.

The team's strong performance highlights the calibre of Humber’s Paralegal Studies program and its commitment to fostering academic excellence and professional achievement.
