Mandeep Tamber, an Honours graduate of the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies program, has successfully completed her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at Osgoode Hall Law School and has been admitted to the Ontario Bar. Mandeep began her legal education at Thompson Rivers University Law School in British Columbia, later transferring to Osgoode Hall for the final two years of her program, graduating in April 2023.
During her time at Osgoode Hall, Mandeep was an active participant in the Legal Action Within Schools (LAWS) program, where she served as a Youth Mentor and Tutor. In this role, she helped high school students with their civics education and provided guidance to those interested in pursuing a legal career.
As part of her undergraduate experience in the Paralegal Studies program, Mandeep completed a field placement with the Tax Law Services Section of the Department of Justice Canada. She gained hands-on experience reviewing documents in complex tax cases using eDiscovery software. Reflecting on her time in the program, Mandeep expressed her appreciation for the practical learning opportunities to the Paralegal Placement Adviser, Mary Anne Myers, stating, “I’m so thankful that our program offers work placements here. My peers and I are learning so much and making so many legal connections. It is an extremely valuable experience!"
After earning her law degree, Mandeep completed her articling at McLeish Orlando Lawyers LLP, a prominent firm specializing in personal injury law. Her work included preparing examination for discovery reports, drafting legal pleadings, and arguing contested motions. Now, as a newly admitted lawyer, Mandeep has joined TD Insurance as a lawyer.
In acknowledging the support she received throughout her journey, Mandeep thanked the Paralegal Studies Program Co-ordinator Bernard Aron saying, “I couldn’t have done it without you and I really hope I am an inspiration for Paralegal Studies graduates."
