Catherine Sidko, a 2025 graduate of the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies degree program, has been accepted to the University of Birmingham Law School, ranked among the top 100 law schools globally.
During her studies, Catherine completed her field placement at a leading paralegal firm in York Region, specializing in Small Claims Court matters and representing clients before adjudicative tribunals. Her responsibilities included client intake, drafting court documents, preparing case briefs, and developing defence strategies, as well as assisting senior paralegals at hearings.
Catherine received acceptance to all U.K. law schools she applied to and chose the University of Birmingham for its renowned reputation, competitive program, and emphasis on practical skills development. “Their law program is highly competitive and diverse, and they focus on practical skills development, which is something that I believe is very important when it comes to the work in the real world," she remarked.
Set to begin her studies this September, Catherine also credited her success in part to a reference letter from Paralegal Studies Program Coordinator and Professor Bernard Aron, which she said played a pivotal role in her acceptance.
