Paralegal Studies Graduate Accepted to Prestigious Dual Juris Doctor Program

Christian Semerjian, a 2019 Honours graduate of the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies degree program, has been accepted into the highly competitive Canadian and American Dual Juris Doctor (JD) program offered by the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

The Dual JD program is the only one of its kind in North America, providing students with the opportunity to earn two law degrees in three years. Graduates are uniquely prepared to pursue licensure and practice in both Canada and the United States, giving them an advantage in today’s global legal landscape.

Christian’s acceptance reflects both his dedication and the strong foundation he developed at Humber. He has gained extensive legal experience, most recently as a Legal Assistant with Blaney McMurtry LLP, recognized by Canadian Lawyer Magazine as one of the Top Ten Regional Law Firms for 2025–2026. His work has spanned several practice areas, including insurance, corporate, and intellectual property law. In earlier roles as a Law Clerk, he drafted pleadings, managed personal injury files, and supported outreach initiatives for a personal injury paralegal firm.

Looking back on his academic journey, Christian expressed gratitude for the mentorship and support he received during his time at Humber, crediting it as a key factor in his continued academic and professional achievements.
