Paralegal Studies Graduate Accepted to Dual Juris Doctor Program

Kamand Khanmohammadi, a 2024 graduate of the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies degree program, has been accepted into the Canadian and American Dual Juris Doctor (JD) program, a collaborative offering from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Graduating with a GPA of 90.4%, Kamand now joins one of the most competitive and unique law programs in North America. The Dual JD Program allows students to earn both Canadian and American law degrees in just three years. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to pursue licensure and practice law in both countries.

During her studies at Humber, Kamand distinguished herself academically and through experiential learning. She represented Humber Polytechnic at the 2023 Capital Cup National Undergraduate Mooting Competition, hosted by Carleton University in Ottawa.

A licensed paralegal, she has gained practical experience in both paralegal and law firm environments. Her professional background includes representing clients in Summary Conviction proceedings and Landlord and Tenant Board applications, as well as managing personal injury files involving tort and Accident Benefits claims.

Kamand expressed her appreciation for the mentorship and support of Paralegal Studies Program Coordinator Bernie Aron, thanking him for his guidance and for providing a reference letter in support of her successful application.
