In a testament to dedication and excellence, Joseph Galinsky, a 2017 graduate of the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies degree program, has demonstrated an extraordinary trajectory in the legal sphere. Joseph, whose academic achievements secured him second rank among 83 peers in his cohort with a GPA of 87.3%, was accepted into the Dual Canadian and American Juris Doctor program at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law, and the University of Detroit, School of Law.
Joseph's journey began in 2019 when he recieved the Comparative Legal Writing & Research Award, recognizing his academic success by achieving the highest grade in his class of 90 law students. In 2020, he transferred to the University of Toronto Law School, a leading institution ranked first in Canada and among the top 20 law schools globally according to the Times Higher Education World University Ranking. During his studies at the University of Toronto, Joseph excelled not only academically but also actively contributed as a legal research analyst and peer mentor.
Upon graduation, Joseph started his professional journey at the law firm, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, home to over 3,500 lawyers worldwide and based in New York. In October 2023 he was admitted to the New York bar and will practice in the law firm's commercial real estate practice group.
Joseph attributes a significant portion of his success to the guidance provided by the Paralegal Studies degree program, specifically acknowledging the support and mentorship of Program Co-ordinator and Professor Bernie Aron. "This achievement would not have been possible without Professor Aron's invaluable contributions to my education. His dedication to teaching and commitment to helping students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the legal field have had a profound impact on my journey." Expressing his gratitude to the program's faculty, Joseph also acknowledged their collective efforts in providing him with a comprehensive and enriching education as well as having a pivotal role in shaping his understanding of the legal realm to prepare him for the challenges that lie ahead.
With immense appreciation for the academic environment fostered at Humber, Joseph embarks on a new chapter of his career, carrying the knowledge and skills acquired during his journey. He envisions using this foundation to learn, grow, and make meaningful contributions to the legal profession.
