Paralegal Studies Alumna Accepted to Law School Abroad

Judy Jaison, an honours graduate of the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies program, has been accepted to the Senior Status Law Program at Queen's University Belfast in Northern Ireland. Judy, who graduated with a GPA of 86 percent, will be attending the two-year program.

During her time at Humber, Judy demonstrated exceptional talent in national undergraduate mooting competitions. She represented Humber at the Capital Cup mooting competition at Carleton University in Ottawa in 2018 and the Osgoode Cup hosted by Osgoode Hall Law School in 2018 and 2019.

Judy gained valuable hands-on experience during her field placement, where she worked as a legal assistant at a Toronto law firm specializing in personal injury litigation. Her responsibilities included preparing accident benefits claims, drafting court pleadings, and managing legal databases, all of which contributed to her practical legal education.

Judy has expressed her gratitude to Mary-Anne Myers, the Paralegal Placement Adviser, for her instrumental role in securing the placement, crediting her support and guidance in refining her resume and offering critical advice. She also thanked Bernie Aron, the Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies, for his unwavering support, serving as a reference for her law school applications in Canada and the U.K., and providing valuable advice throughout the process.
