Paralegal Graduate Joins BMO as E-Discovery Project Manager

Congratulations to Anamika Singh, 2024 graduate of the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies program, who has secured a position as E-Discovery Project Manager, Litigation Services at the Bank of Montreal (BMO). Based at BMO’s Bay and King location in Toronto’s financial district, Anamika is already making strides in her career. In addition to this role, she has also been accepted to two law schools in Western Canada.

In her role at BMO, Anamika oversees the full scope of the legal eDiscovery process—from legal holds and custodian interviews to the collection and processing of electronically stored information (ESI). Her work involves early case assessment tools, AI-assisted software, and managing legal reviews and production of records for regulatory investigations. She plays a key role in matters involving fraud, global investigations, subpoenas, mortgages, employment, and Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC) legal cases across BMO’s operations in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K.

Anamika also manages legal databases, document exports, and the development of traceable and defensible digital evidence processes, minimizing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. Her responsibilities include designing and executing information searches, overseeing the collection and review of electronic records, and ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory, and corporate policies.

She credits her success to her education in the Paralegal Studies program, and particularly to being published in Humber's Journal of Paralegal Access to Justice (2024 edition). Anamika expressed deep gratitude to Professor Jasteena Dhillon, co-Chief Editor of the journal, for helping bring her ideas to print. During her interview process, Anamika noted that BMO was especially impressed by her published article.

Her article, titled “The AI-Justice Paradox: The Need for a Human-Centred Approach to Ensure Fairness for Self-Represented Litigants”, can be found in the 2024 edition of Humber's Paralegal Access to Justice Journal.
