Paralegal Alumna Accepted into Dalhousie Law School

Bachelor of Paralegal Studies 2021 Honours graduate, Olesya Chiloch, was the first graduate to be accepted for admission to the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University.

The Law School at Dalhousie University, founded in 1883, was Canada’s first university-based common law school. During her studies at Humber Olesya was a work/study student for the Longo Faculty of Business, assisting the Paralegal Studies Program Co-ordinator Bernard Aron. Her responsibilities included arranging meetings of the Program Advisory Committee (PAC) and drafting agendas and minutes of meetings.

For her field placement with a paralegal firm, Olesya monitored limitation periods for various court proceedings, drafted court documents and case briefs, and input data into the office management system. During her first year of law school studies, Olesya has provided advocacy representation for the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Services in representing Dalhousie students facing various school offences. She loved her time at Humber and appreciated so much how her Humber degree provided a pathway to law school.
