Paralegal Graduate Excels at the University of Leicester Law School

Rebecca Bocchinfuso, a 2011 alumna of the Bachelor of Paralegal Studies program was awarded the University of Leicester Law School Jubilee Prize for achieving the best overall degree result in the 2024 graduating class of the Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) degree program.

Rebecca's academic achievements at Leicester Law School also include the Jan Grodecki Memorial Award, which she received in July 2022 for best performance as a first-year student. In the 2023-2024 academic year, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Leicester Student Law Review, where she showcased the research of law students, including presentations from the 2023 Conference on “Law in Motion: Adapting to a Changing World.

During her studies at Humber Polytechnic, Rebecca contributed an important article on “The New Age Struggle: An Analysis of Canada’s Indigenous Population’s Experience with an Online Justice System,” which was published in the 2021 edition of Humber’sJournal of Paralegal Access to Justice by Thomson Reuters Canada. She also gained practical experience as a legal assistant during her field placement, where she supported the litigation team in a high-profile human rights dispute.

Following her graduation from law school, Rebecca secured a position as a Policy Analyst with the Ontario Cabinet, working with partners across the Ontario Public Service to facilitate the interaction of businesses and individuals working with the government. Rebecca is also enrolled in the Global Professional Master of Laws program at the University of Toronto, where she will be studying applied legal research and writing, constitutional law, and Aboriginal law.

In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Rebecca has expressed her desire to connect with current Paralegal Studies students at Humber. She is eager to share her insights and offer guidance to those interested in pursuing law school, with opportunities for advice and Q&A sessions available within the program.
