On April 12th and 15th, the Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting degree graduating class presented their Capstone Projects to external reviewers. Included in the review panel was Faith Pember, the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPAO) representative for student recruiting. At stake was the CPAO Capstone Presentation Prize with the winning team being decided by the panel of Reviewers.
This year the winning group presented their project “Electronic Funds Transfers: The Death of Cheques”. The presentation overviewed a study of the impact of ETFs on accounting, audit, technology, and the impact on systems and commerce in general. The members of the winning group and $500 prize were: Oliver Davis, Sonia Calder, Peter Debrone, Annette Kyei, Adriana Mejico, Xiyu Li and Temor Shah.
Congratulations to the entire graduating class. This capstone experience will give them a headstart in preparing them for real-world situations in their future careers.
