In December, students from the Bachelor of Commerce – Digital Business Management and Bachelor of Commerce – Fashion Management programs showcased their exceptional skills and creativity in the Fashion History Museum project. Guided by their program coordinators, the students played pivotal roles in curating the museum, designing the event space, developing marketing materials, and creating a dedicated event website. This collaborative initiative provided a platform for students to apply their diverse talents and work collectively toward a shared vision.
The exhibition featured an array of significant 20th-century fashion pieces drawn from the students’ collections, bridging historical influences with personal experiences. From wedding dresses and jewelry to vintage sewing machines, each artifact was meticulously analyzed through the lens of their academic coursework, offering deeper insights into its historical and cultural context.
The event served as a dynamic networking hub, bringing together faculty, alumni, and industry professionals. It provided students with a unique opportunity to demonstrate their professionalism, engage with leaders in the fashion industry, and position themselves as the next generation of innovators. By presenting their work to industry partners, the students underscored the practical, industry-aligned skills cultivated through Humber Polytechnic’s programs, emphasizing the real-world relevance of their education.
This initiative not only celebrated student achievement but also highlighted the importance of Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) in preparing students for successful careers in the ever-evolving fashion and digital business landscapes.
