WIL Centre Unites Students and Leading Brands in Sports and Recreation

The Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Centre facilitated an industry-focused networking event on November 27th, fostering connections between students and employers in the recreation and sports sectors. Held at North Campus in Room B101, the event brought together representatives from a diverse array of organizations, including Athletics Ontario, Average Joe Sports Club, Brampton Honey Badgers, Canadian Sport Institute Ontario, Canlan Sports, Chartwell, City of Brampton, City of Mississauga, DG Sports Inc, Humber College Athletics & Recreation, JAM, QSLA & QSLA Foundation, TAC Sports Group, Toronto Blue Jays, and Township of King.

Students eager to explore opportunities for field experience and future employment engaged directly with industry professionals. The event served as a platform for students to gain insights into potential career paths within the recreation and leisure fields, both during their academic journey and post-graduation. Meanwhile, employers had the chance to showcase their brands and connect with potential candidates.

With close to one hundred students in attendance and representatives from various prominent organizations, the event buzzed with enthusiastic discussions and networking opportunities. Each booth became a hub of lively interaction between employers and students, fostering an energetic and informative environment throughout the session.
