The Longo Faculty of Business hosted the annual Insurance and Risk Career Fair at the North campus on March 21st, in collaboration with partners including the Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC), Career Connections and the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO). Spearheaded by the Work-Integrated Learning Centre team, the event saw remarkable success, facilitated by the efforts of Insurance Management Program Co-ordinator, John McNeil. Through his extensive industry connections, John secured the participation of forty-five employers, with one hundred and thirty representatives from the insurance sector, surpassing the previous year's event.

While the fair primarily catered to students in the Insurance Management – Property and Casualty (P&C) graduate certificate program, it was open to students across various disciplines at the college. This inclusive approach provided an avenue for students to explore career opportunities in the stable and lucrative field of insurance and risk management. Over five hundred and thirty-six learners from diverse programs engaged with representatives from numerous companies, gaining insights into job openings, recruitment processes, and organizational cultures.

Students seized the opportunity to showcase their skills and establish meaningful professional connections with potential employers actively seeking new talent. The fair attracted external participants from external institutions such as Toronto Metropolitan University, Wilfred Laurier University, York University, Seneca College, Conestoga College and more, further enriching the networking experience.

The event proved mutually beneficial, offering students access to a wide range of employment opportunities, including full-time, part-time, and work-integrated learning positions while providing employers with access to skilled and qualified candidates to strengthen their teams.
