Work-Integrated Learning Centre Welcomes Chef James Kim

Among culinary students searching for their Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) placements, on February 4th the WIL Centre welcomed Chef James Kim from Joey Restaurants.

Chef Kim spoke about placement opportunities available throughout multiple locations, the depth involved with Joey’s intern training plans and how they've had to transition during the pandemic.

Chef Kim also discussed his journey within the culinary industry in great detail; explaining how staying humble, removing obstacles and facing those as a new challenge, as well as a passion for this art has helped him achieve his dreams.

This event sparked many questions for Chef Kim and allowed for an interactive conversation that lasted over an hour. Having the opportunity for industry professionals to speak to students within the virtual format has been well received and allows all parties to network and stay engaged.
