On October 20th at our Lakeshore campus, the Longo Faculty of Business Work-Integrated Learning Centre hosted representatives from Randstad. They are one of the top employment/staffing agencies in Canada and specialize in connecting employers with the talent they require for a business. Our partnership with Randstad spans more than 5 years and they provide excellent field experiences for our business students every semester. Representatives from Randstad shared insights about the skills that students need in different human resources roles, such as Human Resources Compliance, Benefits and Compensation, Workplace Safety, and Talent Management.
They also shared insights about the progression in the field of human resources, starting from entry-level as an HR Administrator to becoming an HR Business Partner. The session provided information about the difference between Human Resources Administrative roles and Sourcing. Overall, the information session highlighted the importance of field experience in helping students determine their next career steps. We look forward to offering our students additional WIL opportunities in the future.
