The Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Centre organized a networking event on May 30th and 31st, featuring Fastenal as the guest speaker. Fastenal, recognized as the largest fastener distributor in North America, shared valuable insights with a gathering of Marketing postgraduate and degree students.
The primary objective of the event was to provide students with the opportunity to engage with a Fastenal recruiter, fostering meaningful connections and gaining valuable knowledge about effective networking strategies. The sessions also aimed to shed light on potential sales and marketing prospects within the organization. Throughout the event, students were enlightened about Fastenal's remarkable market growth and the pivotal role played by innovation in shaping their strategic direction.
To ensure student participation, the event was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and virtual interactions. This format facilitated a more extensive reach, allowing a larger number of students to connect with the Fastenal representative and actively contribute to the discussions. The sessions were designed to encourage student engagement by providing a platform for them to pose questions related to expanding their professional networks, approaching recruiters, staying abreast of current sales and marketing trends, and strengthening connections with prospective employers.
The networking event proved to be a fruitful opportunity for students to gain valuable industry insights and enhance their networking skills. By engaging with Fastenal's representative, students were able to broaden their horizons and strengthen their prospects in the sales and marketing field.
