Culinary and Baking Management students along with the Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Centre co-hosted Ascari Restaurants Chef and Good Behaviour Ice Cream owner Michael Lam on March 4th.
Chef Lam spoke with students about the importance of achieving their goals, placement opportunities, attributes employers look for when selecting interns and how the pandemic has changed the industry.
Over the past few years, Chef Lam has continued to work as Chef De Cuisine at Ascari while also opening up his own one-of-a-kind ice cream shop, Good Behaviour.
Chef Lam has been instrumental in shaping the next generation of chefs and providing students with valuable hands-on skills, industry exposure and networking connections at Ascari. As he transitions from Ascari to Good Behaviour, Chef Lam will provide a different learning perspective for students, who will continue to learn hands-on skills while also being exposed to what it takes to open and run a small business during these trying times.
All of the students wished Chef Lam much success and are looking forward to working with him.
