Students Take Their Mock Interview Experience to the Next Level

On July 20th, the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Centre hosted an InStage VR Interview Experience. The session was organized by Business Management – Entrepreneurial Enterprise Program Coordinator, Cheryl Mitchell, and presented by Co-Founders, Nicole Mclean, and Imran Mouna.

Postgraduate students were joined by InStage VR, a virtual reality platform that provides students and viewers an interactive format to develop their presentation and interviewing skills. Students were able to witness common errors in answering interview questions and how to provide answers that target behavioral and difficult interview questions.

Nicole was the mock interviewee and answered interview questions while students provided feedback by completing surveys. Placement Advisor, Sheena Ordinario, and Rebecca Dart provided verbal feedback to students. InStage VR also provided data analysis of the interviewee’s performance on the amount of eye contact used with each panel interviewer and the number of filler words used by the interviewee.

The partnership with InStage VR has also led to its availability on campus where students will be able to rent the tool. Humber is looking forward to more future collaborations with InStage VR.
