The 10th Annual Humber Advising Conference brought together staff, faculty, and thought leaders to explore new approaches to student success. As part of the event, the Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE) was honoured to participate in a panel discussion titled From Employment to Employability – Preparing Students for Lifelong Success.

John Lam, Director of the Longo CfE, shared insights on how entrepreneurship serves as a “third lane” for students, alongside employment and further education, to create their own opportunities to gain experience. He highlighted the Longo CfE's support for student-led innovation through workshops, competitions, and hackathons, all designed to help learners develop practical skills, build professional networks, and demonstrate their capabilities in real-world contexts.

By encouraging students to think entrepreneurially, the Longo CfE aims to foster not only job readiness but also long-term employability. The Longo CfE was proud to be part of this important conversation and continues to support students in building their brilliance.
