Humber and Tzu Chi Clinic Celebrate Partnership Anniversary - Vegan Style

Humber College along with their partner, the Tzu Chi Clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine, celebrated its first anniversary and plaque unveiling on the Donor Wall. Over the past year, the Tzu Chi Foundation and Humber have been committed to providing access to high-quality Traditional Chinese Medicine that elevates the standards of practice in the field.

The honorable Director General of Taipei Economic and Culture Office, Dr. Michael Chung from the Tzu Chi Clinic along with Humber Executives were present for this joyous occasion. The official unveiling was followed by a reception in the Humber Room where a special vegan menu was served. The menu was designed in collaboration with chefs from the Tzu Chi organization as well as the Longo Faculty of Business.

The clinic strongly supports a vegan diet to further reinforce their belief of a healthy lifestyle along with rest and exercise. Tzu Chi is based on a Buddhist philosophy that asks for the complete harmony of humanity and nature.

Some of the menu items included cauliflower tempura with sesame and soya glaze, eggplant and zucchini wraps, green curry-coconut and shiitake soup, soy and mushroom stir fry in rice flour buns and spring rolls. Students from the Culinary Skills and Management programs assisted Chef Ash with food preparation along with the visiting chefs from Taiwan.
