On April 10, the Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE) hosted the Longo Family Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) Competition & Scholarship Celebration, honouring the entrepreneurial accomplishments of Humber Polytechnic and high school student participants.

This year’s BYOB program welcomed a record 487 participants, including 408 Humber students and 79 high school students—34 of whom took part in the centre’s inaugural March Break Camp.

The celebration was attended by Mike Longo, Chief Operating Officer of Longo’s. A special thank you to Mike for his presence and to Anthony Longo, CEO of Longo’s, who served on the judging panel that selected this year’s competition winners.

Following weeks of preparation, four students were awarded a share of $40,000 in scholarships through the Longo Family BYOB Video Pitch Competition:

  • 1st Place: Nicholas Kobby Ndur-Osei Jr. (Content Elevation)
  • 2nd Place: Kenan Kaplan (MedAddon)
  • 3rd Place: Thai Ngoc Linh Nguyen (Mini Match)
  • 4th Place: Amber May Stiles (Orchid Parlor Beauty Salon)

Congratulations to all the winners and participants for their innovation, dedication, and entrepreneurial drive.
