The Longo Family Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) Program is back, offering students a chance to turn early ideas into real momentum.

The program begins with an Ideation Workshop, the first session in the 7-week BYOB series. It’s an opportunity for current students who are curious about entrepreneurship—or ready to explore a startup concept—to take the first step toward building a viable business. This in-person program guides participants in identifying real problems, understanding their audience, and exploring what makes new ventures succeed.

Students accepted into the Longo Family BYOB Program will also have the chance to compete for a share of $40,000 in funding to support the development of their ideas. Sessions run from January 13 to February 26, 2026, at the Lakeshore Campus (Tuesdays, 3–5 PM), the North Campus (Thursdays, 3–5 PM), and at the University of Guelph-Humber (January 12, 26, and February 5). Students who attend at least five of the seven sessions will qualify for the final pitch competition and gain valuable tools, confidence, and connections to help their ideas grow.
