Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship Hosts Futuristic Fashion Hackathon in Partnership with Industry Leaders

The Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship held the Futuristic Fashion Hackathon and Challenge in collaboration with Myant, NGen, Experience Ventures, and the Government of Canada. The event attracted an impressive number of participants eager to explore how design, advanced materials, and technology can enhance equity in women’s reproductive health.

Student teams tackled key challenges in subcategories such as telemedicine, women’s reproductive health continuum experiences, and postpartum health management, utilizing Myant's innovative technology. Through cross-disciplinary collaboration, mentorship, and specialized workshops, participants developed viable solutions to real-world problems.

Teams submitted video pitches of their solutions, competing for cash prizes ranging from $325 to $525, additional Longo CfE mentorship, resources, and an exclusive lunch with Myant CEO Tony Chahine.

A special thanks to the judges and mentors, including Aye Nyein San, Dr. Binny Arora, Dr. Bruce Sinclair, Dr. Georgette Zinaty, Haley Strachan, Ilaria Varoli, Dr. Iman Yahyaie, Dr. Jon Barrett, Julia Massion, Dr. Peter Wawrow, Sahana Srikandarajah, Tony Chahine, and Yana Bashura. Their expertise and guidance made the event a unique and enriching experience for the students.
