The Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Centre organized a highly successful Speed Networking event on March 9th for Law Clerk and Paralegal students. The event provided students with the opportunity to interact with employers actively seeking placements and employment opportunities, making it a valuable experience for those looking to kickstart their legal careers.
The event began with an inspiring speech by Chantall Samuels, a Humber alumna and Program Specialist with the Ministry of the Attorney General's Court Services Division. Samuels spoke on the importance of networking and shared invaluable tips on transitioning from the classroom to the courtroom and beyond, setting the stage for an engaging and informative event.
The Speed Networking event was designed to be fast-paced and dynamic, with students rotating from table to table to engage in short meetings with employers. This format allowed students to learn about different organizations and career paths available within the legal industry. Many students took the opportunity to submit their resumes for current openings, and some even received job offers on the spot, showcasing the immediate impact of the event.
"We are thrilled that our students had the opportunity to interact with such distinguished organizations and learn more about the exciting career opportunities available to them," said Antoniette Di Marco, Manager at the WIL Centre.
The Speed Networking event was a valuable platform for students to build connections and gain insights from industry professionals, setting them up for success in their legal careers.
The WIL Centre extends sincere gratitude to the numerous organizations that partnered with them to make the event a success including:
