InterGEN Challenge Tackles Intergenerational Housing Solutions

The InterGEN Real Estate Challenge brought together innovative minds to address one of Ontario's most pressing real estate issues: developing strategies for intergenerational living spaces. Hosted by Humber Polytechnic’s Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE) in partnership with Experience Ventures and Re/Max Experts, the event showcased the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of participants from the Real Estate Salesperson Program.

Held at Re/Max Experts Brokerage in Vaughan, the challenge invited participants to identify core challenges surrounding intergenerational living, devise creative and viable solutions, and present their ideas in impactful five-minute pitches to a panel of real estate professionals. The day was filled with entrepreneurial energy, collaboration, and mentorship. Participants gained hands-on experience as they worked in teams to address a real-world issue, with guidance from industry-leading professionals. The challenge offered not only valuable training but also the chance to win substantial prizes for their innovative ideas.

The highlight of the competition was the winning team, Whole Home Generations, whose visionary approach to intergenerational living secured first place. Team members Pervez Noorudin, Garandeer Sharma, Anne Labib, and Shakhira Kurzhembayeva impressed the judges and were each awarded $1,500 for their exemplary efforts.

The challenge provided participants with invaluable hands-on experience and a platform to showcase their ingenuity while fostering meaningful connections with professionals in the real estate industry.
