The Humber Society of Accounting Students and the Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Centre hosted their first joint Career Fair for accounting and finance students on February 10th at the Lakeshore campus. This collaboration resulted in the seamless execution of an engaging and professional event with over 250 students from various programs in attendance.
With a lineup of prestigious employers, including Ernst & Young, Canada Revenue Agency, PWC, Grant Thornton, MNP, and more, the Career Fair provided a unique opportunity for students to connect with industry leaders and explore career options.
Attendees from a wide range of programs attended the event providing an excellent platform for students to showcase their skills, network with employers, and explore job opportunities.
Employers were impressed with a high level of professionalism shown by students and expressed their excitement at the potential of finding new talent for their organizations. Overall, the Career Fair was a highly successful event that showcased the demand for top talent in the accounting and finance industry.
“The organization (HSAS) started this Fall 2022, and the Career Fair was part of the first-ever Accounting Week we held," said Christopher Patalen, President of the Humber Society of Accounting Students (HSAS). "The Accounting Week is a staple event we aim to bring annually, not only for accounting students but for those who are curious about accounting. I am hoping we can bring the news to everyone, as we aim to make things bigger over the next few years."
Thank you to Christopher Patalen, Kamila Rupan-Singh, Vice President of Operations for the Humber Society of Accounting Students and the numerous enthusiastic volunteers that participated.
The WIL Centre looks forward to many more collaborative ventures with HSAS as well as with other student associations within our faculty.
