Humber/Ningbo Project Updates

Celebration of Success

On April 22nd, the Program marked its 26th Celebration of Success. The achievements of the last year for twenty-eight graduating students were celebrated along with several special Humber Guests. Gina Antonacci gave a moving speech about resilience, and Derek Stockley and Alvina Cassiani handed out Certificates of Participation. Longo Faculty of Business Associate Deans were in attendance including James Cullen, Paul Griffin, Peter Madott, and Michael MacDougall. The students appreciated the support of the special guests and were especially pleased to see some of their professors in attendance including Robert Marks, Peter Sirois, and Joan Wang. Valedictorian Zhu Jiayu personally thanked all of the program professors on behalf of her class including those who were unable to attend: Ali Kerdar, Steven Little, Dylan Scammell, David Stapley, and Helen Tam.

After the celebration, the students were treated to a meal at the Mandarin and then a trip to see Cirque du Soleil at Ontario Place. Several of the program professors and staff enjoyed the trip with the students. The evening was enjoyed by all.

Moving forward, most of the graduating class have applied to Bachelor programs at partner schools. They are looking forward to building on all that they have learned about Business Administration at Humber and about life in Canada over the past year. We wish them all the best.

Alumni Visit

On May 8th, a group of 14 students who graduated from the Humber Ningbo program in 2021, and who are now studying in a BA program at York University, came to visit the staff and tour the Humber campus. This cohort studied online for all their time at Humber and so this visit to the Lakeshore was their first. The students loved the atmosphere of the Lakeshore campus and enjoyed connecting with staff and a former professor.
