HTOM and HROM Alumni Event a Huge Success

The highly attended and much anticipated annual Hospitality and Tourism Operations Management (HTOM) and Hospitality - Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management (HROM) alumni event was held on March 3rd.

The 2-hour event was moderated by HROM Program Coordinator Kristy Adams and highlighted the accomplishments of past students. The event also allowed current and soon-to-graduates the opportunity to gain valuable advice as they embark on their career journeys.

The alumni shared their experiences as well as their current roles and responsibilities in positions ranging from Hotel General Manager, Hotel Standards Specialist, Front Desk Agent, Product & Onboarding Manager and Guest Service Specialist. All roles represented well-known organizations such as the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, IHG and Paramount Fine Foods - to name a few.

Although the event was virtual, the level of engagement both by alumni and current students was high. The breakout rooms were moderated by faculty members and allowed students to network in order to build meaningful one-on-one engagement with alumni.

“This was an amazing event that both showcases and celebrates our successful alumni while providing a platform for our current students to leverage valuable connections", said Alvina Cassiani, Longo Faculty of Business Senior Dean.
