Fashion Management Faculty Produced Open Learning Resources for eCampus Ontario as Part of Funding

Fashion faculty, Vladimira Steffek, and Rossie Kadiyska worked with educational supplier Artha Learning to deliver open resources to eCampus Ontario following an approved project for $33,000 funding. The open resource “Education for Sustainability using System Design Thinking and live local case studies” produced an Instructor and Student resource handbook, as well as an Immersive simulation experience for case teaching through system design thinking. The resources are available on eCampus Ontario.

The resources were developed by the two faculty members following their classroom practice of teaching for sustainability over the past four years. The practice is based on developing and writing local cases inspired by Humber fashion alumni entrepreneurs. The cases were then used in the classroom and taught under the UN SDGs goals and system design thinking. Three out of the four cases were taught also in collaborative online interdisciplinary (fashion, design, arts, PR) and international projects (COILs).

The cases have been written using Teaching Innovation and Applied Research funding.
